Acronis Online Backup Gives Consumers a Personal Digital Safety Deposit Box
Expanded Service Protects Users’ Critical Files, Photos and Financial Data
With Secure Online Backup
London, UK January 21, 2010 — Acronis is today announcing Acronis® Online Backup to give home users a personal digital safety deposit box. The expanded service will provide the power to backup critical files on multiple PCs and laptops to a secure, remote location.
The easy to use backup service provides consumers with peace of mind that their critical files – photos, music, correspondence, and financial data – are automatically being backed up over the Internet. Acronis Online Backup, a fully encrypted service, gives consumers the power to protect up to 250 GB of data – more than 15 times the average MP3 player’s worth of music – on up to five computers. Users can easily retrieve their files by logging into a secure location from any Internet-connected PC.
Providing the flexibility consumers demand, Acronis Online Backup is available both as a standalone service and as an integrated offering with Acronis True Image Home 2010. The common user interface of Acronis Online Backup and Acronis True Image Home 2010 makes for fast and easy setup of backups via the Internet or local storage. Acronis True Image Home 2010 provides fast file restore and the ability to recover the entire PC, including the operating system and applications, while Acronis Online Backup provides remote location data protection in case of theft or physical disaster.
Acronis Online Backup is a subscription-based service protecting an entire household’s digital information. The new software protects up to five PCs and laptops with the same account, a key enhancement given that nearly one third of the households own at least three computers (NPD Group survey, October 2009).
“The addition of Acronis Online Backup to our home product portfolio gives our users the widest backup options available on the market today,” said Sean Kinney, Vice President of Cloud Services at Acronis. “The powerful combination of online and on-site backup solutions provides Acronis consumers with the ultimate in data protection, knowing that their digital lives are safe and sound at all times.”
Pricing for Acronis Online Backup is €49.95 per year or €4.95 per month for 250GB (including VAT). For further information please visit:
